GreenSpark FAQs
We know choosing the right software raises a lot of questions. Here’s the answers to the ones we hear most often from scrap yards like yours.
About GreenSpark
What is GreenSpark?
GreenSpark is a modern operating system built specifically for scrap and metal recycling operations. It connects buying, ticketing, inventory, dispatch, export, finance, and reporting into one system that reflects how yards actually run.
Who is GreenSpark built for?
GreenSpark serves the full spectrum of the scrap industry, from single-yard, family-run businesses to complex, multi-location enterprises operating across regions or countries.
Is GreenSpark designed only for large or enterprise yards?
No. Smaller yards appreciate GreenSpark for its simplicity and ease of use, while larger organizations rely on it for robust controls, consistency, and scalability. The same platform supports both.
Is GreenSpark industry-specific or is it used for waste and adjacent industries?
GreenSpark is purpose-built for scrap and metal recycling. Its workflows, data structures, and controls are designed specifically for scrap operations, not adapted from ERP, waste, or logistics software.
Do I need to use AI?
GreenSpark delivers an industry-leading scrap ERP platform. AI agents are an optional step forward for teams that want to push performance beyond what traditional scrap software has ever made possible.
Platform & Capabilities
What parts of my operation can run in GreenSpark?
GreenSpark can support your entire operation, including:
- Buying and selling
- Ticketing and scale operations
- Inventory and production
- Dispatch and logistics
- Export and documentation
- Brokerage and trading
- Finance and settlements
- Reporting and analytics
Many customers replace multiple tools with GreenSpark.
Can I use GreenSpark for just one part of my operation?
Yes. Some customers start with a single function (like dispatch) or just one yard and expand over time. Others roll out multiple modules at once. The platform is flexible enough to support both approaches.
How does GreenSpark handle inventory and WIP?
GreenSpark tracks material from inbound loads through processing, WIP, regrades, blends, and finished goods. This provides traceability, yield visibility, and confidence in inventory accuracy.
Does GreenSpark support multi-yard and multi-entity operations?
Yes. GreenSpark supports parent and child yard structures, multiple legal entities, intercompany movements, and enterprise-grade permissions and reporting.
AI & Automation
Is GreenSpark an AI product?
GreenSpark is a full-featured platform first. AI agents are optional tools layered on top of the core system to help reduce repetitive work and improve efficiency.
Do I need to use AI agents to get value from GreenSpark?
No. The entire platform is fully usable and valuable without AI. Many customers start by standardizing workflows and data before enabling any AI features.
What do AI agents actually do?
When enabled, agents help monitor activity, prepare next steps, and handle repetitive tasks such as drafting tickets, trips, or documents, always under rules you control.
Will AI agents replace my team?
No. Agents are designed to support people, not replace them. They reduce busywork so teams can focus on decisions, customers, and operations.
How do you keep AI safe and controlled?
Agents operate under role-based permissions, approval thresholds, and audit trails. Your team always stays in control, and agents can be paused or disabled at any time.
Implementation & Rollout
How long does it take to implement GreenSpark?
Timelines vary based on scope, but many customers are live in weeks, not months. Enterprise and multi-yard rollouts typically follow a phased, cohort-based approach.
What training and self-service resources are available?
GreenSpark provides multiple ways for teams to learn and get support:
- GreenSpark Academy, a self-service learning hub with guided courses by role
- A full library of documentation covering every feature, workflow, and configuration in the platform
- Step-by-step guides that reflect real scrap workflows, not generic software concepts
Teams can onboard at their own pace while still having access to live support when needed.
What happens after we go live?
After go-live, GreenSpark continues to work closely with your team through:
- Ongoing check-ins and optimization reviews
- Help rolling out additional yards or workflows
- Access to new features and improvements as they are released
You are not handed off to a generic support queue. The relationship continues.
Integrations & Connectivity
Does GreenSpark integrate with our accounting system?
Yes. GreenSpark integrates with common accounting and ERP systems, including QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, and others.
What types of systems does GreenSpark integrate with?
GreenSpark is designed to connect with the tools scrap yards already rely on, including:
- Accounting and ERP systems
- Scale hardware and cameras
- ID scanners, kiosks, and payout systems
- Logistics and freight providers
- CRM and customer management tools
- Business intelligence and reporting platforms
Can GreenSpark work alongside other systems we already use?
Yes. Many customers run GreenSpark alongside existing tools during transition periods or permanently in multi-system environments.
Can GreenSpark support different systems across different yards?
Yes. Many multi-yard organizations operate with different hardware, accounting systems, or tools at different locations. GreenSpark is designed to support these mixed environments while still providing centralized visibility and reporting.
What makes GreenSpark different from legacy systems when it comes to connectivity?
Legacy systems often rely on brittle exports, custom scripts, or limited integration options. These approaches create hard ceilings that make it difficult to add new tools, automate workflows, or access data in real time. GreenSpark is built on a modern architecture that removes these limitations and supports long-term flexibility.
Can GreenSpark support custom integrations or advanced data needs?
Yes. GreenSpark supports API-based integrations that allow customers to connect proprietary systems, data warehouses, or analytics tools. This is especially valuable for enterprise organizations with advanced reporting or compliance requirements.
Pricing & Commercials
How is GreenSpark priced?
Pricing depends on factors like number of yards, and modules. We work with customers to align pricing to the value delivered.
Do you charge based on number of users or tickets?
No. GreenSpark does not charge based on the number of users, seats, or tickets processed in the system.
There are no per-user fees and no volume pricing tied to tickets, loads, or transactions. Your team can add scale operators, drivers, buyers, yard staff, and finance users without worrying about increasing costs as usage grows.
Are AI agents included in pricing?
AI agents are optional and priced separately from the core platform. Customers choose when and where to enable them.
Are there long-term contracts?
Contract terms vary. We focus on building long-term partnerships through value, not lock-in.
Security & Data
Who owns our data?
You do. Your data always belongs to your business.
Is our data secure?
Yes. GreenSpark uses industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging.
Support & Partnership
What kind of support do you offer?
GreenSpark provides onboarding, training, and ongoing support from teams that understand scrap operations.
What does live support look like?
All GreenSpark support is provided by US-based humans who understand scrap operations.
- No AI chatbots

When you call or email, you reach a real person who can help immediately.
Is support an additional cost?

- No fees for on-site visits when required
Support is included because long-term success depends on partnership, not paywalls.
Is GreenSpark right for us if we are not very technical?
